Grand Théâtre de Québec
From August 7 to 22, 2026 After captivating over 130 million spectators in 53 countries, the legendary musical Les Misérables arrives in Quebec in a breathtaking large-scale production, with all the grandeur and emotion that have made it a timeless masterpiece. Inspired by Victor Hugo's novel, the show transports us to 19th-century France. Les Misérables tells the heartbreaking story of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner relentlessly hunted by the implacable Inspector Javert. On his path, he meets Fantine, a worker broken by poverty, to whom he promises to look after her daughter, little Cosette. As rebellion brews in the streets of Paris, young revolutionaries rise up, and destinies intertwine in a whirlwind of emotions and courage. Les Misérables plunges us into the heart of a powerful human fresco, filled with love, sacrifice, and hope — carried by iconic songs like "J'avais rêvé", "À la volonté du peuple", "Mon histoire", and "Le Grand jour". This event show promises a grandiose theatrical experience. The cast artists will be announced soon. After a triumph in Paris, the legendary musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, which won the Molière for Best Musical Production, is presented in Quebec by Juste pour rire, in collaboration with the Théâtre du Châtelet and SPJL Productions – Stéphane Letellier-Rampon, under license from Cameron Mackintosh. A global phenomenon. Unforgettable music. A legendary story. Director: Ladislas Chollat
