DJ Champion
Baie de Beauport
Montreal | electro Present on the Montreal scene for over fifteen years, Maxime Morin, better known as DJ Champion, has been making people dance since the release of his first album, Chill 'Em All, in 2004, for which he won the Félix for Electro Album of the Year at the ADISQ Gala 2005 and was nominated for a Juno Award in 2006 for Best Dance Recording. Joined on stage by his flamboyant G-Strings, the musician and conductor has taken part in numerous major international festivals and events in recent years, accumulating crowd-pleasing moments and memorable performances, along with honors, including another Félix for Show of the Year at ADISQ 2006. With Resistance (2009), the long-awaited follow-up to Chill 'Em All, DJ Champion shows himself to be more serious and audacious in his genre blending, as noted by Olivier Lalande of Nightlife Magazine. This record gave him the opportunity to undertake two cross-Canada tours and to play at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. In 2013, driven by the success of Alive Again, Maxime Morin released the project titled °1, an electro-lounge-orchestral album. In May 2016, he returned with a bang and released Best Seller, his fourth album. The first single, Life is Good, a true anthem to life, is in the image of Champion from the very beginning.
