Grand Eugène
Baie de Beauport
Montreal | Indie The Quebec duo Grand Eugène, composed of Melyssa Lemieux and Jeremy Lachance, navigates both the urgency to create and the depths of memories that are hard to recount. Their first album, Deux places au cimetière, showcases an agile indie rock spirit that easily shifts with moods, gentle in its languor and fierce in its gaze. Melyssa and Jeremy's paths are as intertwined as the threads of a ball of yarn, between CEGEP, Montreal apartments, and the western part of the country. But when their joint project came to life in 2023 with a first self-titled EP, the intention was clear: to offer an indie sound with a dreamlike quality, carried by the singer's whispered voice and the soft arrangements of its main composer. Several of their songs, including "Celle-là" and "Danser," quickly garnered hundreds of thousands of streams on platforms, attracting the attention of music lovers on both sides of the Atlantic to the promising Quebec duo. In 2024, the duo presents a second micro-album, Les vacances d’été, which they are taking on tour across Quebec (FEQ, Francos, Santa Teresa, FME) and France, where they will perform five dates in addition to appearing at the Avec le temps and Bars en Trans festivals.
