The Devil Makes Three
Baie de Beauport
United States | Folk-rock With six studio albums and nearly 20 years of career, The Devil Makes Three continues to write, tour, and deliver performances as intense as in their early days. The band features singer-songwriter Pete Bernhard (vocals and acoustic guitar), multi-instrumentalist Cooper McBean (guitar, banjo, and harmonies), and upright bassist MorganEve Swain (Brown Bird, The Huntress and Holder of Hands). Together, they offer dark, literary music rooted in the traditions of traveling folk, Delta blues, ragtime, and rock 'n' roll. Since their first album in 2002, which notably featured the tracks "Old Number Seven" and "Graveyard," the trio has built a loyal following through constant touring and electrifying stage performances. Their subsequent albums, including Do Wrong Right (2009) and I’m a Stranger Here (2014), received excellent critical acclaim, with the latter marking their entry into the Billboard Top 200. Following the success of Redemption & Ruin (2016) and Chains Are Broken (2018), considered their most accomplished work, The Devil Makes Three continues to captivate crowds at major festivals, from Lollapalooza to Bonnaroo. The band is currently working on a new album.
