Le Grand Marché de Québec
On Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Urban Agriculture Education Centre is holding its Garlic Day at the Grand Marché de Québec, on the ExpoCité site. Admission is free. Two practical workshops are offered during the day, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.: garlic varieties, planting and maintenance techniques for abundant harvests, and the plant's culinary and nutritional benefits. An exchange period allows for advice tailored to the specificities of one's own garden (source: animee.ville.quebec.qc.ca and Les Urbainculteurs, consulted September 13, 2026). Autumn is the time to plant garlic for the following season, which explains the date. The activity is aimed at both beginner and more experienced gardeners, and takes place rain or shine, unless the weather compromises safety. Voilà Québec tip: the day is part of the Urban Agriculture Education Centre series, an initiative by the City of Quebec coordinated by Les Urbainculteurs, who also manage the Jardins du bassin Louise.
