Yoga-Ball Workshop – Soothe the Nervous System
Our nervous system is constantly solicited. The pace of life, stress, responsibilities, and the numerous stimuli of daily life can keep the body in a prolonged state of alertness. Over time, this can manifest as muscle tension, shallow breathing, less restorative sleep, or difficulty truly slowing down. What if one of the ways to regain calm passed first through the body? During this workshop offered by Nathalie Fecteau, you will explore how self-massage, breathing, and gentle movements can send safety signals to the nervous system and promote a return to a state of relaxation. Using the various TRP therapeutic balls (Mama ball, Papa ball, Twin balls, and Baby balls), different body regions often involved in stress reactions will be gently worked, including: • the feet, to promote grounding; • the pelvis and diaphragm, to release deep tension; • the neck, shoulders, and jaw, where stress frequently accumulates; • the rib cage, to give space back to breathing. Throughout the session, you will discover how these techniques can: • decrease muscle tension; • improve tissue mobility; • promote freer breathing; • support nervous system balance; • provide a sense of calm, presence, and well-being. Some simple notions about how the nervous system works will also be presented to better understand why certain body approaches can have such a soothing effect.
