Crafting Workshops and Visits at Maison Henry-Stuart
On August 21 and 22 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., ès TRAD invites you to the enchanting setting of the Maison Henry-Stuart garden for crafting workshops in felt, embroidery, bobbin lace, and jute crochet. It's a special moment in the English-style garden of this heritage house where artisanal know-how marks the passage of time. Schedule: • 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. / 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. / 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Crafting a felted sheep wool flower with Lucie Gingras and Marie Bureau • 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Crafting an embroidered bookmark with Lise Lefaivre • 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Crafting a small bobbin lace flower with Diane Morrissette, Saturday and Marie-Josée Savard, Sunday • 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Collective jute crochet, continuous and without reservation • 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m.: Guided tour of the house in French For the know-how workshops, except for jute crochet, registration is required with a $5 deposit. This amount will be refunded on the day of the event if you honor your commitment. All materials are provided, and you will be accompanied by tradition bearers. Action patrimoine, the owner of Maison Henry-Stuart, also offers guided tours of the house. For 60 minutes, you can immerse yourself in the intact decor that bears witness to bourgeois life in the 20th century. As access is limited to small groups, reservations are recommended and payable on site to the guide at a cost of $10 for adults, $6 for students, or $3 for children. Tours in French will be at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. This program is made possible thanks to the hospitality of Action patrimoine, the collaboration of the Guilde des dentelières et des brodeuses de Québec, and the support of the Cultural Development Agreement between the Government of Quebec and the City of Quebec.
