Exhibition - He Walks With a Light - Thomas Robitaille
Bibliothèque Monique-Corriveau
You don't see the photographer, yet he appears in all these photos. Because these photographs are real: no retouching was done after the camera's curtain closed. It's the art of "light painting", where night is his canvas and a flashlight, his brush. Through our northern landscapes, he draws moving shapes that come to life and then fade away in a suspended moment, revealing ephemeral creatures. He plays with the contrasts between shadow and light, between what our eyes perceive, creating unique and enigmatic atmospheres. Each shot reveals a piece of his imagination, where the invisible manifests itself through light.
