Exhibition - Mobility in Quebec City from Yesterday to Today

Did you know that as early as the 18th century, speed limits were imposed on horses near churches in Quebec City? A horse-drawn tram even ran in the 19th century! This exhibition traces four centuries of mobility in Quebec City through six modes of transport: walking, horse, bicycle, tram, automobile, and bus. It explores their impact on the city's history and urban development, illustrated by anecdotes and period photographs. Exhibition presented by the SPUQ, working since 1993 to promote Old Quebec through educational and cultural activities.
