Maison de la littérature
Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 8 p.m., the Scène littéraire of the Maison de la littérature (40, rue Saint-Stanislas, in Old Quebec) presents the Spoken Word Cabaret with a flamenco edition. These evenings bring together poets who read, slam, rap, or sing their texts to improvised music; this time, the guitar and mandolin of the duo Archipel, Nassim Naili and Diego Muñoz, set the rhythm, with a surprise guest announced. Single ticket $12, announced duration of approximately three hours (source: maisondelalitterature.qc.ca and Le Point de vente, consulted September 10, 2026). Literary guests include Julie Carmel, Anne-Marie Olivier, and Justice Mahoro Rutikara. Geneviève Dufour and Dominique Sacy will host the evening. The second part is an open mic: anyone who wants to read a text can go on stage. Tickets can be reserved online at Le Point de vente, via the "Réserver" button on the event page. Voilà Québec Council recommendation: The Maison de la littérature, located in the former Wesley Temple, is open for visits from 1 p.m. on Thursdays; arrive in the late afternoon, walk up to Old Quebec via rue Saint-Jean, and have dinner in the neighborhood before the show.
