Évangéline
Grand Théâtre de Québec
Starring Maude Cyr-Deschênes, Olivier Dion, Matthieu Lévesque, Nathalie Simard, Océane Kitura Bohémier-Tootoo, and Laurent Lucas, Évangéline is a historical musical fresco imbued with modernism. A cinematic vision of an epic rooted in Indigenous land, in Nova Scotia. 1755, the Acadians are deported... A scar that the passage of time struggles to erase. An epic fresco that tells the story of legendary lovers. A deported love is that of the revolutionaries Évangéline and Gabriel, while within them burns the heart of Acadia. Even today, a troubled memory inhabits us, as we keep in mind the bonds woven between the French people and the Mi'Kmaq Nation. Évangéline and Gabriel will lead us on paths of hope and healing.
