Quebec Culture Days: 30th Edition, Three Free Days

From September 25 to 27, 2026, Culture Days celebrates its 30th edition: three days of free activities open to all, throughout Quebec, organized by Culture pour tous on the last Friday of September and the following two days (sources: journeesdelaculture.qc.ca and Destination Québec cité, consulted on September 3, 2026). In Quebec City, the program unfolds in Old Quebec, around the city center, and in the suburbs: workshops, tours, shows, and open houses at creative venues. The detailed program by neighborhood is published on journeesdelaculture.qc.ca closer to the weekend, and our Quebec tourist attractions list includes the museums and institutions that usually participate. Outside the city, Île d'Orléans also participates: on Sunday, September 27, the Musée maritime de Saint-Laurent hosts a free conference by artist Maud Besson. In Charlesbourg, on Saturday, September 26 at 1 p.m., the Moulin des Jésuites offers a free demonstration of its bread oven. In Beauport, Maison Girardin offers a free ceramic decoration workshop with Lala Céramique the same afternoon, starting at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Sunday, September 27 at 12:30 p.m., the Conservatoire de musique de Québec opens its inner courtyard, in the Grand Théâtre complex, for a free musical picnic where its students, from preparatory to university programs, will perform; bring your own meal, and Studio 29 will serve as a backup in case of rain. The same morning at 11 a.m., the foyer of the Louis-Fréchette hall hosts Roger Mas in the Croissants-Musique series, also free (source: grandtheatre.qc.ca, consulted on September 22, 2026). On Île d'Orléans, the MRC and the Fondation François-Lamy are adding seven events that go off the usual tourist paths. On Friday, September 25 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Espace Félix-Leclerc in Saint-Pierre hosts a traditional dance gathering with Les P’tites Turcotte, caller, and musicians, preceded by an introductory workshop. This is the only one of the seven where reservations are mandatory, at 418 829-1011 or dleblanc@mrcio.qc.ca. On Saturday, September 26, three activities are held without reservation. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Maison Drouin in Sainte-Famille, at 2958 chemin Royal, hosts the Société historique des Filles du Roy for a day of old-fashioned laundry. From 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., three ballet dancers will take a stroll on the island for "Le pas de trois," at the Saint-Laurent leisure center, at 1546 chemin Royal. And from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Musée maritime de l’île d’Orléans offers three thirty-minute workshops on the Popham code and naval flag signaling, a cultural mediation led by circus artist Véronique Provencher.
