Since the immense wave of love that has swept through since June 24th, and in respect of one of Serge Fiori's last wishes, an entirely updated version of Serge Fiori – Seul Ensemble will see the light of day. It will bring together the memorable moments of the show created in 2019, a work that had captivated both critics and the public, with over 50,000 tickets sold before being interrupted by the pandemic. This long-awaited return is based on the same artistic ambition: to offer a bold, sensitive, and visually striking reinterpretation of Fiori's vast musical repertoire, whose legacy resonates more than ever today. Filled with emotion, this revival relies on the return of Cirque Éloize, an essential partner of the first production. Under the direction of stage director Benoit Landry, who helmed the original creation and whose vision has recently been affirmed in the musical Chicago, the show will adopt a renewed, even more vibrant form. New artistic sequences will enrich the offering, notably through the integration of Kwe! – the latest musical project bringing together the 11 Indigenous communities of Quebec – which Serge deeply cared about. The sets and costumes, meanwhile, will be entirely rethought: the original elements were lost during the flood of August 16, 2024, caused by a major water main break near the Jacques-Cartier Bridge in Montreal. New scenography will need to be imagined to bring this greatly rethought universe to life. At the heart of this creation remains Serge Fiori's music, the essential guiding thread and the true driving force of the project. The arrangements will once again be entrusted to Louis-Jean Cormier and Alex McMahon, his artistic heirs, offering a respectful, contemporary, and deeply inhabited reinterpretation of his work. The public will thus be able to discover or rediscover the richness and depth of his musical universe, songs that continue to transcend eras, bring generations together, and nourish the collective Quebec imagination. This new edition of Serge Fiori - Seul Ensemble is intended as a vibrant tribute, a gesture of love and memory, and a celebration of Serge's art, looking towards the future.
