On Sunday, September 27, 2026, as part of the Journées de la culture, artist Maud Besson will present a free conference on her career and creative process at the Musée maritime de l’île d’Orléans, in Saint-Laurent-de-l’Île-d’Orléans. The meeting will take place in the permanent shelter on site. The session runs from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: a mini-interactive conference of about an hour, followed by a space for experimenting with artistic materials; the museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (sources: Tourisme Île d’Orléans, consulted September 5, 2026; journeesdelaculture.qc.ca, consulted September 18, 2026; museum hours and rates: museemaritimeio.ca). Her seasonal exhibition “Le Fleuve Saint-Laurent au fil de l’eau,” presented in the museum's interpretation center, is inspired by the history of coastal shipping in Quebec and the Saint-Laurent shipyard (source: journal Autour de l’île). The site, open daily until October 12, includes the Godbout shipyard, the R.F. Grant tugboat, and the F.-X. Lachance exhibition. Regular admission is $12 for adults, $8 for ages 13-17, and free for ages 12 and under; the conference itself is free access. Voilà Québec Tip: The museum is located at 120, chemin de la Chalouperie, a natural stop on an autumn loop of the island.
