La Fanfare Monfarleau at Armand-Grenier Park: Old-Fashioned Brass Band, Saturday, September 26
Parc Armand-Grenier
On Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., La Fanfare Monfarleau will be at Armand-Grenier Park, in the Vieux-Bourg of Beauport. Founded in 2008 under the artistic direction of Liette Remon, the ensemble revives the spirit of old-fashioned brass bands: brass instruments, clarinet, banjo, violin, and bass drum play traditional repertoire from Quebec, complete with period costumes. The activity is part of Québec animée's "musical ambiance" cultural strolls; it is free and takes place rain or shine, unless conditions compromise the safety of artists or the public (thunderstorms, strong winds, heavy rain). Source: Québec animée, Ville de Québec, consulted September 11, 2026. The band will play again the next day, Sunday, September 27, at Jacques-Cartier Beach Park, at the same time. The same afternoon at 2 p.m., Québec, ville de rêve will paint a live canvas at Victoria Park, in Saint-Roch. Voilà Québec's tip: that weekend, the Journées de la culture (Culture Days) offer free access to hundreds of venues in the city, enough to build a full Saturday around the fanfare's performance. Venue details are in our file for Armand-Grenier Park, and all our free outings in what to do for free in Quebec City.
