La Fanfare Monfarleau at Jacques-Cartier Beach Park, Sunday, September 27
Parc de la plage Jacques-Cartier
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., La Fanfare Monfarleau will give its last performance of the month at Parc de la plage Jacques-Cartier, by the river, in Sainte-Foy. Founded in 2008 under the artistic direction of Liette Remon, the ensemble revives the spirit of old-time fanfares: brass, clarinet, banjo, violin, and bass drum perform traditional repertoire from Quebec, complete with period costumes. The activity is part of the musical ambiance cultural strolls animated by Québec animée; it is free and takes place rain or shine, unless conditions compromise the safety of the artists or the public (thunderstorms, strong winds, heavy rain). Source: Québec animée, Ville de Québec, consulted September 11, 2026. The day before, Saturday, September 26, the fanfare will play at Armand-Grenier Park, in Beauport, at the same time. At the same time, Québec, ville de rêve concludes its own series at Maison O’Neill. Voilà Québec Recommendation: the park runs along the Saint-Laurent River for 2.6 kilometers, perfect for extending the afternoon with family after the concert; our ideas for young and old are in Quebec en famille. The same weekend, the Journées de la culture offer free access to hundreds of venues, and the rest of the month's events are in what to do in Quebec City in September.
