Les Rendez-vous ès TRAD at Domaine de Maizerets: 35th edition from October 8 to 12

From Thursday, October 8 to Monday, October 12, 2026, ès TRAD, the Centre de valorisation du patrimoine vivant, will hold the 35th edition of its Rendez-vous at Domaine de Maizerets, located at 2000, boulevard Montmorency, in Limoilou. Song, storytelling, music, traditional dance, and wool spinning will take place under a wooden-floored tent, the Chalet Lacroix, the chapel, and Maison Maizerets. More than half of the activities are free, and all are free for ages 11 and under (source: cvpv.net, accessed September 18, 2026). The festival opens on Thursday the 8th at 8 PM with the Cabaret des p’tits péchés, naughty tales and songs for adults only, in room 100 of Maison Maizerets, $35. On Friday the 9th at 8 PM, under the tent, Olivier Soucy in trio followed by Nicolas Pellerin and les Grands Hurleurs, $30, or $15 for ages 12-17. Saturday the 10th: family spinning workshop at 10 AM, free; master classes by Laura Risk, $25, and Ksénia Kiseleva, $110, free for those 35 and under residing in Quebec City; singing joust at 2:30 PM, where those 35 and under compete against those 36 and over; dance evening at 7:30 PM, preceded by a thirty-minute initiation, the joust and the evening both $20 each. Sunday the 11th: family dance at 10 AM, free; gathering of spinners at the chapel from 12 PM to 5 PM, free upon registration; Quadrille de Rimouski reconstructed from the Jean Trudel collection at 2:30 PM and Trios éphémères at 8 PM, $10 each. Monday the 12th concludes with a corn husk weaving workshop at 10 AM and Gabrielle Bouthillier's singing hike, departing from Chalet Lacroix at 1 PM, both free. From Friday to Sunday, aperitifs with songs at 5 PM and late-night jams at Chalet Lacroix, free. Passports for the entire festival or by day, and single tickets, are available at lepointdevente.com; passports are on presale with a 15% discount until September 20th, and tickets are also sold at the reception before each activity, cash or card.
