Free Morning at the Grand Théâtre de Québec: Croissants-Musique with Roger Mas and Musical Picnic from the Conservatory, Sunday, September 27

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the Grand Théâtre de Québec, 269, boulevard René-Lévesque Est, will host two free events without reservation. At 11 AM, in the foyer of the Louis-Fréchette hall, the Croissants-Musique series welcomes Roger Mas, a figure of contemporary Catalan song born in 1975 into a family of musicians, who sings in Catalan, French, Occitan, Galician, Basque, Italian, and Spanish; coffee and pastries are offered, and the concert is presented with the Cercle culturel catalan du Québec (source: grandtheatre.qc.ca, accessed September 22, 2026). At 12:30 PM, the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, located in the Grand Théâtre complex, will open its inner courtyard for a musical picnic as part of the Journées de la culture: bring your own meal and listen to its students, from the preparatory program to university students, performing from the open doors of Studio 29. In case of bad weather, everything will take place inside Studio 29. Free admission. Voilà Québec recommendation: the morning is a good prelude to the Journées de la culture, which end the same day, and to Kwatriho’tat!, whose last free concert is at 2 PM at the Palais Montcalm, a ten-minute walk away. For the afternoon, our restaurants on avenue Cartier and Montcalm are a few streets away, and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste neighborhood begins on the other side of the boulevard.
