Participatory video projection on the Gabrielle-Roy library with Olivier A Dubois, Friday, October 16
Place Jacques-Cartier (Saint-Roch)
On Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 11 PM, Place Jacques-Cartier, 320 Saint-Joseph Street East, in Saint-Roch, invites the public to do video projection themselves on the facade of the Gabrielle-Roy library. Using a light table, a camera, a screen, and cut-out images from the City of Quebec archives, everyone composes image-by-image sequences, projected live onto the building. Artist Olivier A Dubois, whose work "The Time Machine" is part of the video mural "Lueurs de mémoire," guides participants in discovering the archives and creating animations, with equipment from Interférences, arts et technologies. Eight people create at the same time, and a rotation system is in place on site so that everyone can participate. Free (source: Québec animée, Ville de Québec, consulted September 8, 2026). Two other evenings of the same format are planned: Thursday, September 17 (from 7:30 PM to 11 PM, with Gabrielle Harrisson) and Friday, September 25 (from 7 PM to 11 PM, with Izabelle Desroches). The Voilà Québec tip: the evening takes place outdoors, in front of the Gabrielle-Roy library, a stone's throw from Saint-Roch restaurants for dinner before or after.
