Beethoven's Eroica
Palais Montcalm
Composer-in-residence Emilie LeBel opens the program with a new work for brass and percussion, commissioned by the Orchestra. Followed by Debussy's luminous Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, Copland's Concerto for Clarinet, with its jazzy accents, and then Beethoven's imposing Eroica symphony. A program rich in contrasts, between modernity, poetry, and orchestral power.
