Book Launch: The St. Lawrence, Source of Emotions
Espace Quatre Cents
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Espace Quatre Cents, located at 100, quai Saint-André in the Old Port, will host the launch of the book Le Saint-Laurent source d’émotions, published by Éditions Sylvain Harvey. Photographer Yvan Bédard from Neuville and poet Francis Bélime from Quebec will present their work, which combines photographs of the river with haikus – short poems of three lines – and a preface by Christian Bégin. The publisher and the two authors will explain their creative process. An exhibition of ten photographs from the book will showcase scenes of the St. Lawrence River. The book, 144 pages for $49.95, will be available for purchase on-site in a regular or limited edition, with dedications. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Société Provancher, an organization dedicated to protecting natural habitats and islands of the St. Lawrence River. Free admission (Sources: expocite.com and editionssylvainharvey.com, consulted on October 2, 2026). Nearby, at Place-Royale, Merveilles ordinaires by EXMURO is open for free visits until October 25th. Our guide to things to do in Quebec City in October lists the rest of the month's events.
