CIRCLE ALL SINGING – Collective vocal improvisation at CJC
Centre Jacques-Cartier
The CJC hosts this free activity open to all! ______ CIRCLE ALL SINGING 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM At the Centre Jacques-Cartier, 421 Boulevard Langelier THIS AUTUMN: 3 MEETINGS + 1 CONCERT Over the course of three meetings, we will take the time to familiarize ourselves with collective vocal improvisation: playing with our voices, getting to know each other, developing our listening skills, and discovering the joy of creating together, without pressure. You can participate in just one meeting or all three! Each evening offers a complete experience and remains open to new people. That said, attending more than once allows for a deeper understanding of the practice, building connections with the group, and for those who wish, gently preparing to lead a proposal during the concert. Then, on December 11th, we will conclude the season with a festive and interactive concert, halfway between a show and a large singing circle. An opportunity to share the practice with the public and invite them, too, to join the game! ** Each meeting offers a guided, playful, and stress-free practice. Through games, vocal explorations, and singing circles inspired by those popularized by Bobby McFerrin, we spontaneously create music together, with listening and enjoyment. The evening adapts to the group, its energy, and the experience of those present. We can follow, try, propose, invent... or simply take the time to get acquainted with the practice. There is nothing to prepare or succeed at: each voice contributes in its own way to what takes shape in the moment. *A playful and inclusive activity to explore your voice, create connections, and taste the joy of singing together — even without musical notions.* *Open to all — voluntary contribution* Facilitated by Ève-Marie Laflamme
