(Dé)tourner sa langue is a hybrid work and a playful monologue that subverts the conference format to explore linguistic insecurity in Quebec. Artist Klervi Thienpont, who also created and directed the piece, invites us into an intimate and humorous reflection on our relationship with language, our accents, and our complexes. The show promises an atmosphere that is both vulnerable and incisive, interspersed with poetic asides, skits, and even karaoke, dissecting Quebec identity through its wounds and its emancipation.
