Grand Opening of the Riopelle Space at MNBAQ: Four Days of Celebrations
Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec
From Thursday, October 22 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec will open the Riopelle Space, its new Michael Audain Pavilion, with four days of celebrations. The three-story building designed by Les Architectes FABG houses the largest public collection of works by Jean Paul Riopelle in the world, including a room dedicated to the fresco L’Hommage à Rosa Luxembourg (sources: mnbaq.org, grand opening page consulted September 7, 2026, and Museum press release). Celebration Schedule: Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular ticket from $28 after the "Early Bird" rate ends on September 7, $10 for members, free for ages 17 and under; open Thursday 22 from noon to 9 p.m., Friday 23 and Saturday 24 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (mnbaq.org, consulted October 1, 2026). Places are limited and booking a time slot is required; the ticket also grants access to the exhibitions in the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion on the same day. The Voilà Québec recommendation: the Museum is on the Plains of Abraham, at the end of Grande Allée, and the pavilion offers views of the river.
