Martin Giroux
La Chapelle Spectacles
Singer and musician Martin Giroux is a regular on stage. He first gained recognition on Star Académie in 2004, before being chosen to play roles in major musical productions presented in Quebec and Europe, such as Dracula, Notre-Dame de Paris, and PUB ROYAL – The Musical by Les Cowboys Fringants. He returns with a show that pays tribute to a great artist from his home country, which he even presented in front of his idol and role model! "Since discovering this great man, Richard Desjardins has been a part of my life! From my first road trip at age 16, through those evenings spent playing his songs, to today where I sit to appreciate the magnificent pieces by this formidable poet, author, and musician; his entire body of work has shaped who I am. As Richard Desjardins has been present at every stage of my life, I wanted to pay tribute to him. His lyrics and melodies are at the heart of this concert, interspersed with personal anecdotes related to my love for his songs. On stage, I sing and play guitar, accompanied by pianist Catherine Maurais."
