Portraits de mon chez-moi - Lancement d'album
Grand Théâtre de Québec
An exhilarating electric bassist, Thierry Du Sablon wishes to pay homage to his culture and Quebec heritage through his music. Starting at a very young age listening to progressive rock on his father's lap, he evolved in a rich musical universe that now pushes him to find new avenues for contemporary jazz. By fusing his jazz music with influences from Quebecois music such as folk, traditional, singer-songwriter music, and prog, he creates something unique that allows him to stand out.His first EP Live at Elspot revealed compositions demonstrating his various musical explorations since his beginnings. Launched at STUDIOTELUS as part of the Festival Québec Jazz en Juin, his first album Portraits de mon chez-moi reveals an in-depth exploration of Quebecois music. In addition to creating his own compositions, Thierry has accompanied some of the best jazz musicians in Quebec and Canada, such as Rafael Zaldivar, Virginia MacDonald, Janis Steprans, Rémi Bolduc, and François Rioux (Lost Fingers). In 2024, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in jazz performance from Université Laval and then completed a master's degree in performance at Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain.A co-presentation of the Grand Théâtre de Québec and the Festival Québec Jazz en Juin in collaboration with Desjardins
