Pow Wow international de Wendake
Carrefour artistique de Wendake
A pow-wow is a gathering of First Nations from North America. In the past, it was traditionally a religious event (shamanism) or a celebration of warrior exploits. Today, there is a real "circuit" of pow-wows that have become festive events and an opportunity for First Nations to keep their cultural heritage alive through traditional dances and songs. It is the ideal time for you to experience their cultures, their rites, and their traditions. Bringing together many Indigenous nations and over 100 dancers, this ancestral tradition is a cultural affirmation and embodies solidarity among First Nations peoples. Many artisans will also be present along the magnificent trail that runs along the Akiawenrahk’ (Saint-Charles) River.
