Erika Hagen is the musical project of multidisciplinary artist Érika Hagen-Veilleux. Originally from Quebec City, a graduate of the École de cirque de Québec in 2017, her plural practice seeks to establish dialogues between the body, music, and speech. Erika Hagen was born from the desire to wield sensitive poetry from a playful, uninhibited, and feminist angle. Inspired by poets like Patrice Desbiens, the sound of Riot Grrrls, as well as indie-rock and folk artists like Courtney Barnett and Avec pas d’casque, her songs are both irreverent and intimate. The project's baptism took place in the streets of Old Quebec in 2023. Erika Hagen is releasing her first album, Pouvoirs magiques, produced by Dany Placard, in the spring of 2025.
