Scène Crave – Place D’Youville
Esther Quansah (guitars, vocals) and Becky Foinchas (keyboards, vocals) met in primary school in Woodbridge and Virginia. Daughters of African immigrants, they fuse diverse influences, choirs, African wedding music, and math rock to create a unique sound. After their acclaimed EP Mommy Issues (2021), they return with their first album Dying, an introspective exploration of the ego in 12/8. Between boldness and vulnerability, the album blends atmospheres, genres, and experiments, addressing meditation, esotericism, and surrealism in daily life. The music reflects a deeply spiritual aesthetic that defies time and form.
