Formed during the pandemic, the Montreal trio Bye Parula distinguished itself with a sound that is both folk and subtly funky, rooted in the city's indie-rock tradition. Their first album, released in 2023, reveals a refined art-pop aesthetic and garnered national attention when « Still Got the Spirit » became the theme song for CBC's Q With Tom Power. Building on notable performances at numerous festivals and a European tour in 2024, the group continues its evolution. With Something Out of Nothing (2026), Bye Parula expands its universe, blending orchestral funk, introspective melodies, and 1970s cinematic influences.
