DIMANCHE À SODOME
Théâtre La Bordée
Sunday in Sodom is a scenic extrapolation of a few verses from the Bible describing the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by God's wrath. The play is a feminist reinterpretation of these events, told by Lot's wife. In the Bible, she is never named; she is mentioned only once, when she is turned into a pillar of salt for disobeying God by turning back to look at the destruction of her city. In this millennia-old biblical narrative that meets today's burning issues, the author gives a face to the one who disobeyed in order to give voice to this voiceless mother and wife.
