LE CONCERTO POUR VIOLON DE MENDELSSOHN
Grand Théâtre de Québec
BRUCKNER'S SEVENTH SYMPHONY Here, everything begins with a breath: that of an orchestra preparing the entrance of the violin for one of the masterpieces of the concert repertoire, brilliantly defended by German violinist Arabella Steinbacher. On an orchestral velvet, the violin begins a song that is both mysterious and universal. Thus begins Mendelssohn's intoxicating Violin Concerto. This essential piece of the repertoire takes us on exhilarating rides with an irresistible sense of rhythm and melody. Finally, let us be carried away by the tumultuous romanticism of a Bruckner inspired by Wagner in his Seventh Symphony, his most famous and beloved work, which concludes this remarkable program with brilliance.
