Encounter with Patrick Bureau After decades of isolation marked by Enver Hoxha's communist dictatorship (1944-1985), Albania has opened up to the world and has experienced rapid tourism growth since the 1990s. This small Balkan country is a secret paradise located between Greece and Montenegro. Its capital, Tirana, is today a dynamic city in full transformation, a symbol of the country's renewal. Discovering Albania means exploring a country with spectacular nature, complex history, and strong identity. It attracts more and more visitors curious to discover a still preserved and authentic destination. Through numerous journeys across the country, Patrick Bureau unveils a land of contrasts. Explore its wild mountains in the north, its turquoise beaches along the Ionian Sea, and its UNESCO World Heritage traditional towns and villages. You will also have the opportunity to make captivating encounters with the local population. This trip invites you to discover one of the most fascinating and little-known countries in the Balkans, located at the crossroads of East and West. Biography of Patrick Bureau Originally from Savoy, Patrick Bureau has always been drawn to travel and adventure. For over 20 years, he has traveled the world in search of unspoiled nature and peoples still living according to ancestral ways of life and traditions. As an independent filmmaker, he has made numerous documentaries that have allowed him to join the largest French-speaking film-conference organizations in France, Quebec, Belgium, and Switzerland, where he has presented his latest documentaries, including one on Auvergne, a region of France. He was featured at Les Grands Explorateurs during the 2023-2024 season. Today, he has chosen to share his passion for travel by introducing us to Albania. His mission remains the same: to create close ties with the local population to offer you an authentic vision beyond the clichés of this amazing Balkan country.
