Marie-Chantal Toupin
Salle Albert-Rousseau
Chanson — This new show features her greatest hits, some songs from her latest album Je continuerai, as well as other titles she reinterprets with evident pleasure, paying homage to the great Quebec icons Marjo and Nanette. Marie-Chantal Toupin is one of the greatest rock singers in Quebec's history. Thousands have danced to her music and recognized themselves in her lyrics. On stage, the fiery performer has unleashed her passion more than 1,000 times, with a boundless energy that she still possesses today. Comment je pourrais te l’dire, Maudit bordel, and Soirée de filles are among the Quebec songs that always hold a place in our memories; moreover, she has sold over 500,000 albums and these three songs are among the SOCAN classics, totaling 25,000 airplays each. Between 2001 and 2013, Marie-Chantal Toupin was also nominated 13 times for a Félix award, and in 2004, Non négociable won the award for rock album of the year. It is for all these reasons that for this tour, we have reunited the same musicians and technicians as for Breen LeBoeuf's tour, under the musical direction of Pierre Beauregard, as well as Réjean Lachance (Johnny Halliday, Roch Voisine) on guitar.
