Festival international de musique corporelle de Québec
Maison pour la danse de Québec
The International Body Music Festival (IBMF) is coming to Quebec City for its first long-term edition in Canada. For one week, around forty artists from Quebec, First Nations, and internationally will offer more than 90 activities where the body becomes an instrument: shows, participatory workshops, conferences, and rhythmic evenings. Recognized as the world's largest gathering dedicated to body music, the IBMF has been celebrating an inclusive artistic practice since 2008 that transcends cultural and linguistic barriers through movement, rhythm, and collective energy. The programming will take place in several downtown venues and will showcase a dialogue between local traditions and rhythmic expressions from around the world. Presented by Les Malchaussées, in partnership with PLAYGROUND for the arts and Crosspulse, the event brings together renowned and emerging artists, from here and abroad, and affirms Quebec City as an open, vibrant, and internationally-oriented artistic capital.
