Exhibition: [in]tangible tangles and other works by Nadia Myre
Complexe Méduse
A scale tipping to one side, moccasins, a Canadian flag. With these elements, Nadia Myre invites us to meditate on memory, and on the present too. [in]tangible tangles — which gives the exhibition its title — consists of pairs of moccasins whose images are taken from the online collection of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. These prints, made a few months after the discovery of 215 children's remains in Kamloops, prompt reflection on various historical violences exerted on Indigenous nations. This series and the accompanying works for the exhibition deploy a space for contemplation to question, notably, the inequalities and political structures that cause them.
