Inuk singer-songwriter from Kuujjuaq, Yaa, aka Johnny Saunders, is a prominent figure on the Nunavik music scene. Singing mainly in his mother tongue, Inuktitut, he blends folk, pop, and rock to tell the story of the North and the resilience of his people. Recognized for his unique voice and profound lyrics, he has notably collaborated with the collective Nunajait and performed on several major stages across the country, including the Présence autochtone festival.
