Soleil invite
Scène Radio-Canada
With Willows, Eadsé and Sandrine Masse Innue from Mashteuiatsh and based in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal), Soleil Launière is a transdisciplinary artist who combines singing, movement, theatre, and performance art. Her work explores the presence of the two-spirit body and is inspired by the cosmogony and sacred spirit of animals in the Innu world. Through her album Taueu, she addresses territory, femininity, gender identity, and matriarchy in a soul-roots universe with contemporary tones. Her creations blend several languages — French, English, Innu-aimun, and an invented language — in a process of cultural and identity reclamation.
