Vécu en bulles Launch – Comic Strip and Exhibition
Saturday, June 13, at the Gabrielle-Roy Library, come celebrate the culmination of the Vécu en bulles project! Discover the talent and stories of about twenty young girls from YWCA Québec's "Comités filles+", highlighted in a collective comic strip and a unique exhibition. This initiative from our Youth Services has enabled these young people to appropriate public space to share their realities authentically. To support them in this process, they benefited from the mentorship of comic strip artist Géraldine Grotowski and rapper Sarahmée, who guided them in translating their experiences into images and words. On the program for June 13: • Introduction to Comic Strip Workshop (2 p.m. to 3 p.m.) • Géraldine Grotowski, the project's mentor artist, will lead a creative workshop open to all to introduce the basics of the 9th art. Library's Polyvalent Room Free, no reservation required Launch & Vernissage (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) Official unveiling of the comic strip (a copy will be offered to each person present!). Exhibition of 10 panels highlighting the participants' stories and creative process.
