Introduction to Traditional Crafts
With tradition bearers, learn to felt, weave, spin, embroider, braid, and make stained glass. In addition to learning about these techniques, discover the rich past of these gardens, witnesses to nearly 400 years of history. Saturday, July 4th Program: • Needle felting with Lucie Gingras • Wet felting with Marie Bureau • Stained glass with Monique Bouchard • Weaving on a two-harness loom with Colette Boilard • Weaving on a four-harness loom with Eveline Cantin-Bergeron Sunday, July 5th Program: • Carding and spinning wool with Ksénia Kiseleva from Métier doré • Card weaving with Éléonore Petitpas • Braiding with Maude Filion • Swedish embroidery with Lise Martel • Bead weaving with Maude Cossette-Bergeron Free activities presented by Ès TRAD, the Centre de valorisation du patrimoine vivant, and the Monastère des Augustines, with the support of the Cultural Development Agreement between the City of Quebec and the Ministry of Culture and Communications.
