Guignol's Historic Puppet Theatre
FAMILY ACTIVITY This summer, young and old will discover the adventures of Esther Wheelright with the puppet show The Fascinating Story of Esther in New France. The play will be offered free of charge in various parks in Quebec City. The activity is free, no reservation required. SHOW DESCRIPTION Adopted at the age of 7 by the Abenakis after the attack on her village in New England, little Esther is sent by the French to the Intendant's Palace. Worried about her fate, she crosses paths with our mischievous Guignol, with whom she becomes friends. This budding friendship is disrupted when the Intendant sends Esther to the Ursuline Monastery. Years later, Esther becomes Mother Superior of the Ursulines of Quebec. Guignol's antics will lead their paths to cross again under incredible circumstances years later... The presentation of the shows during the summer of 2026 is made possible thanks to the support of the City of Quebec.
