Summer Animations
From June 17 to August 22, three free educational animations will be offered in the Rivière-Saint-Charles linear park: The Secret of the Living, At the Heart of Ecosystems, and A Journey Through Time. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., on the days presented below, a naturalist guide will lead these activities at Parc Chauveau, Parc de la Pointe-aux-Lièvres, or Maison Dorion-Coulombe. Each animation lasts about 15 minutes and will allow you to learn more about the animal and plant species that inhabit the Rivière-Saint-Charles linear park, as well as its history and heritage. To participate, simply join the guide between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. These activities are open to everyone, but particularly adapted for children aged 5 to 13. The Secret of the Living: Every Saturday from June 20 to August 22, 2026 inclusive, at Parc de la Pointe-aux-Lièvres Dive into a vibrant world where every flutter of wings, crackle of a branch, and unique song tells a story. The Secret of the Living invites you to learn more about the animal species that inhabit the Rivière-Saint-Charles linear park. During the animation, you will become familiar with the local fauna, its way of life, and its impact on the ecosystem. At the Heart of Ecosystems: Parc Chauveau on: • Wednesday, June 17, 2026 • Wednesday, July 1, 2026 • Wednesday, July 15, 2026 • Wednesday, July 29, 2026 • Wednesday, August 12, 2026 Discover the diversity of the flora in the Rivière-Saint-Charles linear park and the richness of this territory in the At the Heart of Ecosystems animation. The natural environment of the Rivière-Saint-Charles linear park forms a symbiosis between the different species that live there. These ecosystems must coexist harmoniously to promote the development of life in the river and on its banks. This animation will therefore allow you to expand your knowledge of the ecosystems you encounter daily, without even realizing it. A Journey Through Time Maison Dorion-Coulombe on: • Friday, June 26, 2026 • Friday, July 10, 2026 • Friday, July 24, 2026 • Friday, August 7, 2026 • Friday, August 21, 2026 Go back in time along the Saint-Charles River and explore the major events that have marked its history! From the arrival of Jacques Cartier, through the industrialization of the territory and the river's sanitation project, A Journey Through Time offers a portrait of Quebec's history and heritage using the Saint-Charles River as a reference point.
