Vieux-Limoilou International Pétanque!
16th edition – July 24 and 25, 2026 The International de pétanque du Vieux-Limoilou (IPVL) is a festive and community event organized every summer. This pétanque tournament takes place at Parc de l’Anse-à-Cartier, in the Vieux-Limoilou neighborhood of Quebec City. The IPVL is distinguished by its friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Teams of three players (triples) are encouraged to adopt original names and dress up creatively, adding a playful touch to the competition. The event is open to all, encouraging participation from people of all ages and backgrounds. Ambient music, street food (food trucks), a bar, and skill contests will allow you to have a pleasant time, regardless of the outcome of your participation. New this year The event will take place over 2 days with the addition of two new categories: corporate and youth. See details below. Corporate Category Friday, July 24 – from noon to 6 p.m. A great team-building and employer branding activity, a beautiful summer Friday afternoon. Registration for a corporate team costs $300 per team, 3 players per team – so triples. This is a new category, and part of the profits will be used to set up the youth category (distribution of t-shirts for children, participation medals, etc.). Youth Category Saturday, July 25 – from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. For participants aged 6 to 12 years old. Teams of 3 players are available for $20 pre-sale until July 1st, after which registrations will be $30. In the spirit of the IPVL, teams are invited to find an original name and costume to stand out. General Category Saturday, July 25 – from noon to 18 p.m. 13 years and older (minors must be part of a team with at least one adult) Teams of 3 players are available for $60 pre-sale until July 1st, after which registrations will be $75. In the spirit of the IPVL, teams are invited to find an original name and costume to stand out.
