Kiya Tabassian and Ablaye Cissoko
Grand Théâtre de Québec
In this concert inaugurating the 25th season of Constantinople, the master of the kora, Ablaye Cissoko, and the ambassador of the Persian setar, Kiya Tabassian, have chosen to pay homage to the estuary, that place where fresh water mixes with salt water, evoking passage, renewal, fertility; a space of transition and transformation, blending the currents of their musical memories where unexpected possibilities emerge. Alongside them, their long-time accomplice, percussionist Patrick Graham, infuses rhythm and nuance. Over the years, their dialogue has deepened, becoming a profound and inspiring musical conversation, creating an enchanting universe that suspends time and soothes the spirit.
