Concerts for Every Ear
Grand Théâtre de Québec
Jacques Kuba Séguin presents a new musical project focused on joy and accessibility: a festive six-musician fanfare. Fanfare sous le pommier allows this brilliant trumpeter to satisfy his need to break down the distance between the audience and music and explore a close-up experience, with minimal amplification, where the instruments' vibrations can be heard. With this refreshing brass ensemble, he mixes funk, afro-beat, and jazz tunes, then transports spectators to the streets of New Orleans and the neighborhoods of Buenos Aires or Poland, his origins. Note that Jacques Kuba Séguin is a recipient of the JUNO and Félix awards for best jazz album in 2020, in addition to having been nominated several times at ADISQ and for the Opus prize since 2015. He has played with many popular artists including Daniel Bélanger, Steve Hill, Papagroove, Jean Leloup, and Pierre Lapointe, as well as with Cirque du Soleil. A co-presentation of the Grand Théâtre de Québec, Concerts pour toutes les oreilles, and the Festival Québec Jazz en Juin About Concerts pour toutes les oreilles Concerts pour toutes les oreilles are shows specially designed to be accessible to all audiences, from curious music lovers to families with young children.
