Dom Babin: Work in Progress
Théâtre du Petit Champlain/Maison de la chanson
In passing, it's a work in progress. Not just the show, I'm also working on myself. I don't want to be the dude who finishes his personality at the same time as high school, who arrives at 30 and makes Snapchat stories. So I try not to take myself for granted. But one thing's for sure, a big part of who you are depends on where you come from. I come from a big family of resourceful people from Gaspésie who eventually made it. Poor people who became rich while keeping their poor values. I find there's something poetic when I see millionaires eating baloney stew at Christmas. My parents made it so much they moved to Rimouski. Yeah, back then that was making it. I grew up in a place where nothing happens, so you know everything. There's no crime but there are plenty of witnesses. Everyone sees the same things but hears them differently. So when I tell my stories, it's so you can hear yours. I'm coming down to tour. Come laugh at me, come laugh at you, come laugh at us.
